About

At Peggy's Cove, Nova Scotia (c. 2006)

Hello!

My name is Justin. I’m a fourth-year student (and incidentally, a Virgoan) at the University of British Columbia — Vancouver studying in the Dual Degree in Science and Arts program with specializations in Cell Biology & Genetics and English Literature. I am, of course, broadly interested in a variety of subjects including molecular biology, developmental genetics, ECM, rhetoric of science and genetics, Restoration and eighteenth-century literature and epistemology. I’m always excited to learn new things and try to expose myself to as many modes of inquiry as possible. My favourite courses at UBC have been ENGL 348 and BIOL 337.

I also happen to serve on the executive committee of the Science Undergraduate Society as the Science Student Senator. This means that I have the privilege of directing the academic affairs of the society while also serving as a member of the Student Senate Caucus. I sit on the Curriculum and Teaching & Learning committees. My priorities include pedagogical development programmes, inter– and multi-disciplinary learning and learning technologies.

I am fluent in English and conversant in Cantonese. I have some fluency in French and have a reading knowledge of German. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. I enjoy reading, writing, photography and music. I also love travelling (though haven’t found much time to do so!). I’ve also dabbled in tarot reading which I find therapeutic.
